Welcome to Metis
Metis is a high IQ society for individuals who have achieved a score of 125 or above on a standardized intelligence test (SD15), placing them within approximately the top 5% of the population.
But membership is about more than a qualifying score. Metis provides a place where intellectually curious people can connect, exchange ideas, participate in discussions, and enjoy the company of others who appreciate intellectual exploration.
Why "Metis"?
In ancient Greek mythology, Metis was a Titan associated with wisdom, strategic thinking, foresight, and intellect.
The name reflects the qualities we value: not intelligence for its own sake, but intelligence combined with wisdom, insight, creativity, and thoughtful action.
Metis represents the idea that knowledge becomes most valuable when it is applied constructively.

Membership Criteria
Membership in Metis is open to individuals who can demonstrate a qualifying IQ score of 125 or higher (SD15) on a standardized, reputable intelligence test.
We accept evidence from recognized intelligence assessments and approved qualifying assessments reviewed by the G.A.I.N. network.

G.A.I.N. promotes shared standards, transparent admission criteria, and cross-society connections, creating a broader intellectual community for its members.
Metis serves as the IQ 125+ society within the G.A.I.N. network.
Members who later achieve higher qualifying scores may have opportunities to join higher-IQ societies within the network, including Aristeia (IQ 140+) and Aetheron (IQ 155+).
